Planning to buy Samsung Galaxy On 8? Here is our detailed Samsung Galaxy On8 review that will help you to decide whether to buy Samsung On 8 or not.
Samsung Galaxy On8 Price Review
Samsung Galaxy On8 is available exclusively on Flipkart and is currently priced at ₹15,900. At this price point this phone faces a tough competition from other brands like LeEco, Xiaomi etc. But as per Samsung standards this price is good for a phone which is packed with some pretty decent features.
Talking about my personal experience I got this phone for just ₹13,410. I purchased it during Big Billion Days on Flipkart when it was priced at ₹14,900. At that time Flipkart was giving extra 10% off on SBI cards.
If you order this phone now, you get a 32GB Samsung micro SD card absolutely free (availlable on Flipkart for ₹579).

Physical Appearance and Build Quality
The appearance of Samsung Galaxy On8 is very much similar to Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016). The back panel is plastic but comes with a metallic finish. The sides are made up of metal which give a sleek and stylish look to the phone.
Like most of the Samsung phones, right side features a Power button. The left side features two volume keys, but unlike most of the samsung devices, the keys are seperated.
On the front side, Samsung Galaxy On8 has a home key, and two touch keys for back and quick menu. At the top you get a front facing 5 megapixel camera, a front flash and an ‘earpiece speaker’. The touch keys are not backlit and notification LED is absent.
Coming to the back side, Samsung Galaxy On 8 features a 13 megapixel camera, a flash and a speaker.
Back panel as mentioned above is plastic and has a 3300mAh removable battery underneath. The phone comes with a standard 3.5mm jack to connect earphones and a micro USB charging port.
Samsung Galaxy On8 runs on Android Marshmallow (v 6.0.1). The Samsung Touch Wiz Interface in this phone feels very good to use and is better than most of the previous Samsung devices. The phone comes with a themes app which lets you change the theme of the phone. It comes with one preinstalled theme and you can download more from its theme store.
The phone comes with some useful Samsung and Microsoft apps pre-installed.
Samsung Galaxy On8 features a full HD, super Amoled display. The screen size is 5.5 inch. The display quality is quite nice and the phone supports full HD(1080p) video playback. The phone display gives good results in all viewing angles.
Coming to brightness, Samsung Galaxy On 8 features a brightness sensor, i.e it can sense the external light and adjust the brightness accordingly. You can also manually adjust the brightness as per your needs.
Samsung Galaxy On8 features an internal memory of 16GB and can be expanded upto 128GB using a Micro SD card.
If we talk about its RAM, the phone comes with a 3GB RAM which is a pretty nice feature at this price point as per Samsung standards.
Although the RAM is 3GB but only 1.5GB is availble to user because almost 1.5GB will be always pre-occuppied by operating System and other system apps.
SIM and Micro SD slots
The Samsung Galaxy On8 comes with two micro SIM card slots and one micro SD card slot. It is quite nice to see this because previously some Samsung devices came with just two slots; one slot could be either used for SIM card or an SD card.
Samsung Galaxy On8 Review – Gaming Performance
While testing the device for gaming performance, I played two heavy games: Asphalt 8 and N.O.V.A 3 continously for 20 minutes. During this time, I experienced frame drops and slight lags in the game. The phone got heated up after 20 minutes of heavy gaming.
In short I can tell you that this phone is not for gamers. But if you are a normal user and don’t want to use this device for heavy games, Samsung Galaxy On8 can be a good option for you.
Samsung Galaxy On8 features a 13 megapixel back camera with 5 megapixel front facing camera. A unique feature that samsung is providing in this phone is the front facing flash. This means you can capture good selfies even in the low light conditions.
Back camera is able to capture pretty decent quality images in natural light. The camera is OK for low light conditions. I took some selfies using its front facing camera and they were of decent quality.
Samsung Galaxy On8 Review for Audio and Video Quality
Samsung Galaxy On8 supports full HD video playback. Video quality is pretty nice but the audio is not too good. It is OK for normal usage but if you like to listen to music at high volumes it may not be able to satisfy you.
OTG support is very common in every device nowadays. But Samsung Galaxy On8 comes with a pre-installed app which allows you to use your USB device to backup the phone contents.
Should I buy this phone?
If you ask me whether you should buy samsung galaxy on8 or not. Here’s my opinion:
Samsung Galaxy On8 is available at the price of ₹15900 which I personally feel is a bit high. If the price was same as big billion days, it was a nice deal. The phone was available only for 14,900, an extra 10% discount and a free 32GB memory card.
Although I would buy this phone at its current price if it had a fingerprint sensor which is unfortunately missing. However, if you are impressed with the features of Samsung Galaxy On8 and you are comfortable in paying this price, you can visit Flipkart to buy it.
