Nokia in a reply to a user query on social media account Weibo, gave a hint that a Nokia phone with snapdragon 835 SoC may be expected sooner or later.
There are many rumors and leaks associated with HMD led Nokia phones. These leaks started coming out ever since the HMD global announced the rebirth of Nokia as a smartphone brand which will be manufacturing android devices.
Some of these leaks and rumours suggest Nokia P being Nokia’s flagship device and some reports suggest that the phone will be a competitor to the likes of iPhone 7 & Samsung Galaxy S8. This time Nokia gave a hint about launching of a phone with Snapdragon 835 processor which is believed to be Nokia P.
A user posted a question for Nokia on a social media platform Weibo. Although the actual conversion is in chinese and Google Translate couldn’t give an exact translation but here’s roughly what the question meant and what Nokia replied:
Q: “I want Flagship! I want Snapdragon 835!”
A: “We understand your mood, since the higher end Snapdragon SoC has just released. Give us some time. We will make it public.”
This clearly indicates that Nokia has some plans to launch a flagship device with Snapdragon 835 SoC.
Expected Specifications of this device
- 6 GB of RAM
- upto 256 GB internal Memory.
- NFC payments.
- Wireless Charging.
- OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) equipped front camera.
- 5.2/5.5 inch QHD display with an AMOLED screen.
- Single Sim.
Various online sources suggest that the Nokia P may feature a Pure View Camera similar to Nokia 808. However the camera will be only 23 MP unlike the 41 MP in Nokia 808. The camera will feature Carl Zeiss lenses.
Nokia P1 smartphone is expected to be priced around $800 (approx. Rs. 54,500).
It is being speculated that this device will be launched at MWC which is scheduled in Barcelona, Spain next month but there is no official confirmation till date.
