BlackBerry KeyOne Specifications, Launch Date & Price

BlackBerry KeyOne has been announced by Blackberry at a press event in Barcelona. Here is all you need to know about this smartphone from specifications, launch date, price and availability. The phone was earlier known as ‘Mercury’.



The Blackberry KeyOne features a QWERT keypad but the keyboard won’t be used just for typing! This keypad can be used as a touch sensitive control pad. Apart from this Blackberry KeyOne keypad can be used to open apps. All the 52 keys can be programmed to open specific apps when tapped or long pressed. e.g, F for facebook, I for Instagram, etc.


The display of this Blackberry KeyOne is a 4.5-inch 1080p screen which is smaller than a standard 5-inch display these days. But that was necessary because of the presence of keypad below it.


The battery is 3505 mAh which can be turbo charged using ‘Boost’. This means maximum charge can be achieved within a shorter period of time.


The phone features a Snapdragon 625 SoC giving 2X performance, 4X faster charging (50% charge in 30 minutes).

RAM & Internal Storage

Blackberry KeyOne comes with 3GB RAM & 32GB internal Storage.


BlackBerry KeyOne back camera is a Sony 12-megapixel IMX378.


The smartphone will run on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.

X9 LTE Utra Modem

Blackberry KeyOne also features an X9 LTE Utra modem which will make downloads 2X faster and provide better network coverage.

Security Features

The phone comes with DTEK app installed. This making adjustments to choose how secure the phone should be. Users can customise security settings ensuring company data protection as well as private data protection.

BlackBerry Hub

This phone comes with BlackBerry Hub application pre-installed. This applications lets you manage all the messages from one interface.

Launch Date, Availability and Price

The BlackBerry KeyOne will be going on sale this April for $549/£499/€599 (36600 INR approx). It’ll be available worldwide through various retailers and carriers exclusively in black.
